Steven Brown is a 1975 graduate of the University of Central Florida, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with a major in Accountancy. After graduation, Mr. Brown worked for two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Colombia, South America. He received his Juris Doctor degree, summa cum laude, in 1988 from Stetson University College of Law, where he graduated first in his class.
In addition to being an attorney, Mr. Brown is licensed in Texas as a Certified Public Accountant, and has broad experience in tax matters. Prior to practicing law, he was a Senior Tax Analyst for Phillips Petroleum Company, and was responsible for representing Phillips Petroleum Company before the Internal Revenue Service. His experience also includes the position of Revenue Agent with the United States Treasury Department, Internal Revenue Service, where he was a member of a Large Case Audit Team which audited some of the largest corporations in the United States.
Mr. Brown practices primarily in the areas of Corporate, Business, and Tax law, and is board certified by the Florida Bar in Tax Law. He is a member of the Florida Bar, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and numerous other professional organizations. Mr. Brown has served as Chair of the Florida Bar Committee on Relations with the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Chair of the International Business Committee of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida, Inc., and Executive Vice President of the Central Florida Chapter of the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce of Florida, Inc.
